My computer won't turn on at all — is it worth repairing?
Almost always worth a look. "Won't turn on" can be anything from a £20 fuse in the charger to a failed motherboard — and we can usually tell you the difference within an hour or two. We'll be straight with you if a repair isn't economic; we'd rather you bought a new machine than wasted money on an old one.
Can you recover my photos and files from a dead computer?
Often, yes. If the drive itself has failed mechanically it's a specialist job and we'll be honest about the odds. If the computer is dead but the drive is fine — which is much more common — we can usually pull the data off and onto a new machine or external drive.
